The Photobooth Story features webcam self-portraits of two artists, Anna Knappe from Finland and Melissa Jean Clark from Canada. Worlds apart, the artists share a habit of documenting vulnerable moments through the lens of their Mac computers. Anna said: “I realized that even though I photograph everything, I don’t really do it for the sake of the images and memories, I do it because it’s a habit and an obsession. Taking photos is more like a ritual, I feel like I have to do it.”
The artists worked together to create diptychs of their self-portraits. The resulting images explore similarities in emotion and body language present in their archives of Photobooth captures.
