Mobile Diaspora is a series of short videos in which asylum seekers talk about their lives on their own terms. The videos portray asylum seekers as active participants who talk about their lives in camps and the endless waiting while their asylum cases are processed, their hopes and expectations and their critique of how they are treated.
As the title suggests, Mobile Diaspora alludes to mobility, mobile technology and mobile phones, the lifeline through which asylum seekers tell about their experiences and aspirations to each other, to their families, friends and social media audiences.
